KT - an IT pros nightmare

Hello,
I have once again not been updating...:((..need to get rid of this laziness. However, I now at last have a topic to discuss and write about. Last weekend our organization went through a goal setting exercise for all members of the unit. We spent the whole day discussing and brain storming as to what is that we can do to improve our efficiency, accountability, dependability etc. etc....One of the most important point to come out was that we need to capture and publish a lot of individual knowledge and share that amongst all. KNOWLEDGE..hmmm, a very very powerful word; something that scares me sometimes.
As I come from an IT background I have heard numerous variations of this term called "KT" ..like "Knowledge Transfer".."Knowledge Sharing"..."Knowledge Capture"...and on and on.
Every software professional goes through a humongous number of these in his career, even I have attended zillions of these by now, however what surprises me is that very little effort is spent on measuring the effectiveness of these sessions.
So, I have started to think...how do we measure this? and every idea that comes to mind somehow does not feel right. As a true and sincere IT pro I have also carried out the necessary ritual of googling on this, yet either I come across material that requires me to sign up or something that is too theoretical. I am struggling to find any practical solutions to this. How the hell do I measure...take a test? hmmm..maybe, get attendees to document? errr...very boring.. how guys how??

Signing off for the time being..but will definitely update this as and when I am enlightened.
